Blackout Poetry

In BIM today we wrote some blackout poetry using a newspaper article.

‘A blackout poem is when a poet takes a marker (usually black marker) to already established text–like in a newspaper–and starts redacting words until a poem is formed. The key thing with a blackout poem is that the text AND redacted text form a sort of visual poem.‘

Today in BIM we were attempting ‘blackout poetry’. I really enjoyed it and it was funny the paper I was using had an article with the name Rebekah in it!

Blackout poetry is were you used already written text to make a poem! But I just picked out and wrote the words out cause my hand is not functional enough to put lines under particular words or anything. Here it is:

Rebekah said why

Rebekah furious

wish this never happening

I could have changed

so upset

obviously upset

she rarely cries

she’s a tough character

hard to cope

turmoil )
