Recovery from brain injury is a seriously long road and one where it can sometimes feel that the destination is moving farther away from you the harder you try to reach it. I just wanted to do a blog post that’s right down to reality. I write about all sorts of issues on here – good, bad, funny and sad and I don’t want you to feel that I dress it to be a ‘walk in the park’ (I couldn’t do that anyway even if it was🙄…but moving on…)
Just as each one of us is unique, so every brain injury is totally different. You might have a similar injury but it won’t be identical. That’s not to say that we won’t face similar issues but the experience from starting point to outcome will be unique to you and me as individuals.
My hope for this blog was that it would allow me to express what’s going on with me, record my progress and just reflect on the issues and challenges that I face. But even if our experiences are different one thing that I have learned is that sharing those experiences in this community can make a huge difference to how I feel and hopefully how others feel.
